Retainers

Retainers are for life! Wear your retainer 24/7 or until Dr. Larrabee instructs you to wear it only at night.

Brush your retainers with a toothbrush and toothpaste, and rinse it with cold water. Do not boil or use hot water on your appliance. Soak your retainer in Polident or Efferdent (denture cleaner) to clean it thoroughly. Be sure to keep your retainer in a case and away from pets – they love retainers! It’s also important to know where your retainer is at all times. Many people accidentally break or throw away their retainer, in which case we will have to make a new one; retainers really are for life!
